Considerations when specifying doorsets
The Designer Range is intended to be as flexible as possible in meeting the specifier’s visual and performance requirements.
In order to facilitate this process we manufacture all doorsets
to individual orders, allowing differences in size, configuration
and construction to be accommodated.
As size, configuration, door construction and performance are
all interrelated, we are keen to discuss specific requirements
at the earliest stages of a project. As a guide, individual doors
with a maximum width of 1300mm or a maximum height of
3000mm can be provided. Where doors only are required for
refurbishment and upgrade projects, oversize lippings can be
included to allow for on-site adjustment.

Doors and doorsets can be produced in single or paired
configurations and in either single or double action modes.
For unique solutions to meet the disabled access requirements
of the Building Regulations Part M, refer to the Pivette
doorset. Overpanels or glazed fanlights can be
incorporated within doorset configurations. Where required,
lippings are selected and finished to match the door and
can either be exposed or concealed.
Considerations when specifying doorsets
The drawings below set out the terminology for typical
doorset configurations and handings for use in specifications.
Configuration, size, construction and performance
characteristics are all interrelated. Specific size ranges for
particular products can be found in individual product
BWF-CERTIFIRE data sheets. For information on side lights and
side panels contact Technical Services.
